We had a ton of fun these past few months hosting SCCM Summer Camps! Each of our camp sessions were filled with adventure, discovery, and, of course, plenty of hands-on art making! Our SCCM Campers clowned around during our Carnival of Colors camp in June, exploring a world of whimsy and bright color. During our Arts in Action camp in July, our Campers dipped their paintbrushes into a bit of art history by learning about artists like Frida Kahlo and Jackson Pollock. In August, we made waves during our Under the Sea camp, finding pirate treasure, imagining the life of a mermaid, and learning about turtles, jellyfish, and other sea life! Here at SCCM, we love seeing the smile on a child’s face that is sparked by curiosity and discovery.
For the first time this year, we were lucky enough to award eight full camp scholarships over the course of the summer. These scholarships provided the opportunity for families in need to let their little ones enjoy a camp experience they may have never encountered before. Our camp scholarships were supported in full with funds received from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Foundation. We are so grateful to the Tournament of Roses® Foundation for their support of SCCM and for their generosity in allowing us to share Summer Camps with local children in need. Our scholarship recipients loved camp!
All in all, it was a wonderful Camp Season! We can’t wait for next summer!
