Admission Terms & Conditions
Southern California Children’s Museum (SCCM) is intended for children ages 0-6. Adults are not permitted entry into the museum without being accompanied by a child.
All children are required to have a responsible adult over the age of 18 in attendance.
We are a smoke, alcohol, and drug-free facility. Use on our premises will result in removal from our museum without refund.
SCCM prohibits the use and carrying of firearms, knives, or weapons of any kind on our premises.
Entering SCCM constitutes consent for the museum to photograph, video, or record your image and voice for promotional or other purposes without compensation. To Opt-Out, please see the Admissions desk.
Please note museum entryways are monitored by security cameras that record sound.
Guest Code of Conduct
Our guest conduct policies were created in order to keep our museum safe for play, creativity, and exploration for all. Southern California Children’s Museum reserves the right to refuse service and/or access to our museum, programs, events, classes, camps, and other museum offerings on and offsite to any individuals disregarding SCCM policies or disrespectful of SCCM’s guests, staff, exhibits and/or property.
Safety is important to SCCM. We ask all guests to comply with our safety policies and staff instructions and requests in a respectful and kind manner. All guests must wear shoes at all times in all areas of the museum.
All guests must wear a shirt and shoes at all times, and diapers must be covered. Clothing, accessories, items, or slogans displaying foul, hate, or obscene language, or suggestive images (explicitly sexual or hate symbols) are not allowed. Exceptions to the shoe rule are infants and guests in our baby area.
Diaper changes should be performed in designated areas only. Changing tables are available in all restrooms and in the nursery.
We encourage developmentally appropriate risk taking, there is inherent risk involved in all elements of play. Parents, or caregivers, are responsible for the safety of their children. No team member can take the place of adult supervision. Stay within eyesight of your children, use each play element with care, and ask a Team Member for guidance if needed.
Stay home when you are sick. If you or your child are ill or experiencing any symptoms of illness, please refrain from visiting.
Southern California Children’s Museum will not tolerate inappropriate behavior or abusive, demeaning, foul, or harassing language toward our guests, activity partners, or staff. Failure to comply with these policies may result in immediate removal from the museum premises without refund of entry and/or revocation of future Play Pass entries.
We reserve the right to prohibit any guest activity that we determine may be harmful or disruptive at any time.
Party Rental Terms and Conditions
Party hosts and guests are subject to our guest conduct and other museum safety and operational policies.
All party guests receive general museum admission. Please note all-day access to the museum is not a guarantee, and may be limited due to SCCM programming, events, staffing, or other bookings.
Adjustments to time, guest count, and vendor details must be confirmed in writing by SCCM prior to booking vendors and sending out party invitations. Verbal confirmations, including in-person or via phone, are not considered final terms for your event.
A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the intended party time and date. The remainder of the balance is due on the day of the event.
There are no refunds for cancellations, no-shows, or add-ons within 2 weeks of the party date.
Parties can be rescheduled two weeks or more before the planned date. The $150 deposit is transferable to a new date. We can only reschedule to currently available dates and times.
SCCM reserves the right to deny additional time add-ons based on schedule, staff, and other museum needs at the time of booking, and up until the day of the event. Should an unexpected change in time add-ons be necessary, purchases of additional time will be refunded.
Additional guests above the maximum guest count are not allowed. If museum fire-capacity is reached, they may not be able to stay in the museum. Hosts will be charged $15 a person for guests that exceed the maximum guest count.
All party items, including decorations, vendors, and guests must be cleared out of the Snack Room by the end of the party time slot. SCCM will charge an additional $50 for every 15 minutes the party runs late. A clean up fee of $300 will be charged for party items left in party spaces, hallways, or our parking lot after the allotted party time ends.
All vendors must be approved by SCCM prior to booking. Party hosts must provide a vendor’s Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming Southern California Children’s Museum as an Additional Insured for General Liability for a minimum of $1M. These must be received at least two weeks ahead of the party date. We are unable to allow vendors onsite without a COI.
A party with two or more food-vendors will be automatically charged for an additional 15 minutes.
Party hosts and/or vendor companies assume responsibility and legal liability for any issues that arise as a result of the vendor company as it relates to the following (including but not limited to): museum guests including party hosts, party guests, visitors, staff and Board of Directors, and our physical facility including (but not limited to) the parking lot, building, supplies, exhibits, furniture, walls, paint, machinery, lighting, flooring, and all other aspects of our physical space.
User-Generated Content
By allowing Southern California Children’s Museum (SCCM) to use your content (“User Content”), you agree to these Terms of Use:
SCCM engages followers, patrons, and guests to facilitate the collection and transmission to the SCCM website (www.socalkids.org), social media channels, and promotional materials of User Content, including photos, artwork, text, graphics, audio, video, location information, comments and other materials from social media sites.
Any User Content submitted will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. By providing User Content, you grant SCCM the right to use, reproduce, modify, perform, display, distribute, and otherwise disclose to third parties any such material, including names, biographical information or other identifying features of you or your family members (including children), for any purpose in connection with its business, including marketing, promotional, advertising and other consumer-related activities.
You represent and warrant that:
- You are 18 and over
- You own or control all rights in and to the User Content and have the right to grant the license granted above to us
- Your User Content will and does comply with these Terms of Use
You understand and acknowledge that you are responsible for any User Content you submit or contribute, including its legality, reliability, accuracy, and appropriateness. SCCM is not responsible or liable to any third party for the content or accuracy of any User Content.
SCCM is committed to making our platforms a safe place for children. Objectionable content including, but not limited to, hate speech, violent, graphic, and/or sexual content will not be accepted.
SCCM reserves the right to alter these Terms of Use without advance notice by posting a revised Terms of Use. Accordingly, you should review the Terms of Use each time you grant permission or authorization to feature your User Content.
