Daily Programs

We’re more than an open play experience! Join us for different daily programming that’s aimed at stimulating little minds and encouraging learning through play. From cultural programming, stories and crafts, language development, music, and learning about the environment, there’s so much for children to discover and learn at Southern California Children’s Museum. All programming listed below is FREE with admission unless otherwise noted. Come explore high-quality early childhood arts and culture programming that’s fun for the whole family!

Daily Program Descriptions

Mindful Mondays

Mondays at 10:30AM and 2:00PM

Start your week with mindfulness techniques and lessons that all family members can benefit from. This weekly program introduces children to breathing exercises, sensory awareness, stretching, mantras, and easy meditations. Join us for a storytime followed by a mindfulness exercise every week! No special equipment needed – just come as you are!

Messy Play (Tuesdays)

Tuesdays at 10:30AM & 2:00 PM

Children and grown-ups are invited to explore sensory experiences together while getting a little messy! Activities will vary every week but are curated to encourage imagination, language development, sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and more!

Story & Craft (Wednesdays)

Wednesdays at 10:30AM and 2:00PM

Join us for a read-aloud, and then bring the story to life through arts and crafts! Perfect for our toddler to kindergarten friends, this weekly program exposes kids to various authors, illustrators, cultures and diverse characters through stories, play, crafts and songs! Bilingual Circle Time (Thursdays)

Thursdays at 10:30AM

Enjoy a fun, interactive Spanish-English story time or singalong! This program is suitable for native speakers and those seeking exposure to a new language. Sign up for our newsletter to learn about Bilingual Circle Time days that include additional languages taught by our organizational partners.

Wild California Explorers (Fridays)

FRIDAYS at 10:30AM & 2:00PM

Did you know that the Washingtonia filifera is the only species of palm trees indigenous to California? Learn more about our amazing state and its important people in history through storytime, arts activities, games, scavenger hunts and more!

Saturday Sing-Along

Saturdays at 10:30AM and 2:00PM

Kiddos of all ages get to explore various musical instruments while singing their favorite songs! From shakers to drums, we are ready to make some noise!

Sustainability Sundays

Sundays at 2:00PM

Let’s get creative! Part sensory play, part art class and part environmental studies, we’ll learn about the environment and how we can help take care of our planet while exploring items from our garden or building amazing creations out of recycled materials! Join us every Sunday at 2:oo PM!
